QUESTIONS

  1. John – do you have a photo called AB0031?  It is apparently of the wooden trestle bridge that connected the wooden sidewalk to the cemetery.   We could add the text about filling in the gully in a caption if we find and add the photo of the bridge.  JDM – Yes, this photo was one that Jake scanned.  I have uploaded it along with a touched up version into the Miscellaneous Photos folder.  I would love to figure out how to remove the watermark from these photos – haven’t figured that one out yet. The photo is included on the contact sheets for the AB photos. 
  2. New to be added:  Cooperage v2 in Feb 18 Dropbox folder. We can talk about how to use all the available photos.  I could try editing the text and adding the revisions.  HB and IB comments added. JDM: updates made to the cooperage page and featured image added. (02/29/2019)
  3. To be altered: Brickworks v2 in Feb 18 Dropbox folder.    Eliminate the first 8 bullet points and heading (Brickworks – a history) and replace with the first 5 reworked bullet points in the powerpoint.    Add: ‘How Bricks were made’ at the end   Add: photo of east Bolton (panorama). HB and IB comments added.
  4. QUESTION:  Page on Undertaking.  The text shows up without bullets and is small compared to other pages, like Laurel Hill, Soap and Candles etc.    Some of the captions have ‘gibberish’ in the next line.  JDM: Not sure what happened to that page. I have cleaned it up. I found a version of the photo of the horses and sleigh in the 1972 Bolton Centennial booklet. I scanned that version and got a much clearer version for the website. I also took the caption from the Centennial book and used it (identifies the people in the sleigh).  (02/27/2019)
  5. REQUEST: new PDF’s of Tannery, Cooperage, Brickworks, Churches.
  6. HARDWARE:  page edited. New photo of blasting ice dam on river was saved to Dropbox.  Somehow in adding footnotes, the photo of 11 Nancy Street disappeared.  Not sure what I might have done! JDM: Added the photo of 11 Nancy St. and the panorama back into the page. I repositioned a couple of images as discussed on the phone.  Added separator for footnotes and featured image (03/04/2019).
  7. QUESTION?  I have added distillery to the Inns, Taverns and Hotels page in Hotel and Grist mill folder.  I don’t see why the DISTILLERY section can’t be repeated in the Industry section.
  8. REMARKS: Footnotes added to: Tannery, Soap and Tallow, JDM: Separator added before footnotes on the Tannery page.
